Rebecca has more than 15 years of experience as a librarian and public library administrator. As a professional evaluator, she has evaluated library, museum, and educational projects funded by IMLS, the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently, Rebecca focuses on helping libraries build their capacity to evaluate their offerings and make evidence-based decisions, and she also serves as an assistant professor of educational psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Linda Hofschire, PhD

Linda’s qualifications include more than 25 years working in social science research and evaluation; extensive project management, training, and teaching experience; and doctoral-level coursework in research methods and statistics. As a consultant she works on various evaluation and training projects including directing the Research Institute for Public Libraries (RIPL), an initiative that provides in-person and virtual training for anyone interested in public library data and evaluation, and serving as the training coordinator for Infopeople, Califa’s national training arm.

Califa Group is a nonprofit library membership consortium representing 230 libraries in California. Founded in 2004, Califa brokers and facilitates the procurement of library products; works closely with the California State Library in administering a number of statewide projects supported by federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, such as the enki Library ebook platform; offers Continuing Education training through the Infopeople project; and manages master contracts and pricing agreements with publishers and vendors.
